Junior Interior Designer

Candice Prather Interiors has an immediate opening for a full-time, Junior Designer who can work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate has exceptional taste, is smart, hard-working, and thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment, with strong attention to detail. As a boutique firm, wearing many hats is part of the gig and so the ability to roll up your sleeves and help out... in all areas to get the job done is part of the job. There will be days where you work alone and so you must be a self-starter and be proactive in the planning of your day. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: • BA in Interior Design or a related field OR 3 years proven work experience in designing interior spaces • Proficient in AutoCAD or Sketchup • Developed portfolio/samples of Interior Design work • Project management skills • Familiarity with furniture vendors, as well as local workrooms • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Valid driver’s license/access to a vehicle • Local Residency in DC, MD or VA RESPONSIBILITES: • Collaborate with senior designers to develop design concepts and plans • Assist in space planning, material selection, and furniture layout • Assist in preparing presentations for clients, including mood boards and sample boards to effectively communicate design intent • Participate in site visits to gather measurements and assess project feasibility • Assist in managing project timelines and budgets • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution At Candice Prather Interiors, we offer a supportive work environment where you can learn from experienced professionals in the industry.
