Sho and Co is a full service interior design studio servicing the DMV area as well as virtual design packages across the US. Our design aesthetic is fresh, bright, and casual, taking inspiration from west coast vibes and incorporating them into traditional east coast design. We focus on creating beautiful spaces that are thoughtfully designed with function in mind.
Role Description
This is a contract role (1099) for a Junior Interior Designer. This is an on-site role located in Frederick, MD. This is not a remote position. You must be located locally in the area.
• Support Lead Designer in taking projects from start to finish
• Support Lead Designer in taking potential clients through the Potential Client Process
• Client set up in all systems
• Assist in Identifying and executing complete job scope
• Work with contractors, architects, vendors and trades to set a realistic timeline and communicate that timeline consistently to clients and all involved parties
• Provide an incredible client experience, where clients become raving fans from great communication and customer service
• Ensure project is excellent quality, on time and on budget (both clients and our margins)
Interact with Design Team
• Execute projects in a professional, positive and profitable manner
• Provide clear, proactive, direct, frequent communication and interface with team members
• Maintain design library of samples and resources
Interact with Client, Vendors and Trades
• Establish and maintain positive, professional client, vendor and trade relationships
• Participate in client meetings and presentations in a positive, professional manner
• Provide clear, proactive, direct and consistent communication and interactions with clients, vendors and trades
• Provide weekly communication to clients as needed
• Prepare communication for Lead Designer to inform clients, vendors and trades of changes in a timely manner
• Help to analyze and resolve complex, technical design and installation issues
• Issues are anticipated and addressed before they become problematic. They are addressed immediately with skill and diplomacy. If issues need to be brought to Lead
Qualifications
• Knowledge of space planning and interior design
• Knowledge of architecture and construction drawings
• Ability to balance design aesthetics with functionality
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Sketchup, and/or other design software
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field
• Experience with residential and/or commercial design is a plus
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
