About the position IA Interior Architects is seeking a Junior Designer for our Seattle studio. This role is pivotal in translating client goals, brands, and culture into powerful environments that are built around people, processes, technologies, and business drivers. As part of the largest global architecture firm focusing exclusively on interiors, our team is dedicated to creating high-performance, visually compelling, and sustainable environments that help our clients move their enterprises forward. The Junior Designer will work under the direct supervision of a more senior Designer or Project Manager, engaging in a variety of drafting and design tasks that contribute to the overall success of our projects. In this position, the Junior Designer will collaborate with the design team to develop innovative design ideas and may assist senior designers in selecting fixtures and finishes. The role involves developing preliminary space plans under supervision, learning detailing, and assisting in the production of furniture and finish packages, including cost estimating. The Junior Designer will also support senior staff by verifying site details to enhance design accuracy and may participate in field surveying of client spaces. Additionally, the role includes correcting drawings that have been redlined by others and supporting the team in gathering information for client assessments, which may involve attending interviews and providing documentation support. The Junior Designer will also have the opportunity to develop skills using the Affinity program tool, enhancing their professional growth within the firm. Responsibilities • Work with design team to develop design ideas , • Assist senior designers in selecting fixtures and finishes , • Under supervision, develop preliminary space plans , • Assist and learn detailing , • Assist and learn the production of furniture & finish packages, along with cost estimating , • Assist senior staff with verification of site details to support design , • Assist in field surveying of client spaces , • Correct drawings red lined by others , • Support the team in collecting information for client assessment; may attend interviews, provide documentation support; developing skills working with Affinity program tool Requirements • Graduate of an architecture school preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted , • 1+ year experience or equivalent educational experience; strongly prefer experience working in corporate interior design projects , • Intermediate Revit skills Nice-to-haves • Working knowledge of the application of color, materials and aesthetic form , • Familiarity with space planning methodology , • Familiarity with furnishings and equipment , • Basic sketching and rendering skills , • Basic interior architecture detailing skills , • Working knowledge of CDs and procedures , • Commitment to support projects through peaks and valleys , • Intermediate MS Office Suite skills , • Basic Adobe Creative Suite skills , • Basic verbal and written communication skills Benefits • Equal opportunity in all aspects of recruitment and employment
