Pu’uwai Design and Construction We are a leader in the Luxury Custom
Residential Design and Build market Our company’s focus is on designing and
building high-end residential projects on the island of Kaua’i. We are looking
for an individual who understands custom home building principles, understands
design principles, and can assist in bringing these two principles together in
comprehensive documents. The Design Studio works with several CAD based
platforms. We primarily generate documents using the Chief Architect program
which is a model based residential architectural design platform software. We
are currently seeking a Junior Designer to join our Design Studio. As a Junior
Designer you will be responsible for assisting Senior Design Staff with
interpreting, organizing, and executing the conceptual designs of residential
custom home projects. Utilizing your creativity, foresight, and judgement, you
will assist the Design Studio in meeting project requirements and objectives
through a project’s completion. Position of Junior Designer is not remote.
Candidate must be willing to work in our office on the sunny south shore of
Kaua’i, Hawai’i. Required Skills • Basic knowledge of design, trends,
construction methodology, and material applications with respect to
residential architectural and interior design. • Knowledge of design
principles and the ability to interpret design concepts and layouts, including
commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the profession
required. • Possess creative talent in conceptual design and rendering skills
by either hand or computer preferred. • Knowledge of design techniques, tools,
and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings,
and 3d computer models preferred. • Knowledge of architectural and interior
building systems preferred. • Experience in 3d rendering software (Chief
Architect, 3D Max, sketch-up, etc.) preferred. • Basic knowledge of Microsoft
Office Suite required. • Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator,
In-design) required. • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. •
Ability to work in a team environment. • Ability to assist in meeting project
deadlines. • Minimal travel may be required Responsibilities • Receives
project direction from Design Director/Senior Design Staff. • Provides design
and technical support to project team as required. • Assists in Specification
Writing of product research, consulting with manufacturers, evaluating and
selecting project related materials. • Provides support to all team members. •
Participates in team project meetings to help resolve project issues,
coordination with other disciplines, schedule adherence, and technical issues.
• Produces written documentation related to project including meeting
documentation, transmittals, memorandums, using Pu’uwai standard formats. •
Prepares 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings for client/project team
reviews and presentations. Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in architecture
or Interior Design required. • Prior experience (1-3 years) in Custom
Residential Design required. • Experience with the local Hawai’i market
