Intermediate Interior Designer

Jessica Schuster Design is seeking a skilled Intermediate Interior Designer with a passion for interior design and a minimum 4-5 years of professional experience to join our team immediately. The ideal candidate will work with the President and Senior Designers to assist in the delivery of all phases of our projects from conceptual ideas through to installation. Applicants should also demonstrate a strong balance between design sensitivity and technical knowledge, together with the project organization skills that are necessary to operate in a fast-paced environment. Roles and Responsibilities - Formulate design presentations, preliminary space plans and 2D, 3D design concept studies and sketches Develop design concepts, draw furniture plans, and pull fabric and material options as requested by senior designer and principal -Generate design presentations and corresponding meeting agendas for internal reviews and client meetings -Create and maintain floor plans and elevations in AutoCAD -Create detail drawings of millwork, architectural details, furniture, etc. -Create and maintain schedules documenting selections for finishes, plumbing, equipment, lighting etc. -Place FF&E orders and track them to completion - Close collaboration and open communication with the design team, clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors -Various other responsibilities as assigned by the principal Requirements - Bachelor’s Degree or master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design - Strong AutoCAD skills - Proficiency in the FF&E procurement & software, Studio Designer -Strong organizational skills and experience managing high budget interior design projects - Ability to create set of construction drawings, specifications, and schedules - Proficiency in Adobe CS - Must be able to demonstrate strong technical and communication skills -Must be detail oriented and have a strong eye for proportion, color, and materiality -Installation experience, especially in complex high-end jobs - Construction management skills - Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and strong attention to detail - Exceptionally customer focused and managing vendor relationships -Must be able to work on several projects simultaneously
