About this role

Washington DC $80,000 - $110,000 (USD) Annually Permanent Imagine a studio where the model shop is always stocked, there's a VR room down the hall, and the team genuinely looks forward to monthly happy hours. Now imagine that studio is also producing some of the most thoughtful commercial interiors in DC — spaces that are as considered in their FF&E as they are in their spatial planning. This practice blends rigorous design thinking with a genuinely sociable culture, and they need a mid-level interior designer who can contribute meaningfully to both. If you can move seamlessly between concept development and construction documents, and you've got the Revit skills to prove it, this could be the move. Key Responsibilities Work alongside senior designers to develop strong design concepts and translate them accurately into presentations and construction documents. Handle space planning, FF&E specifications, and material selections with the confidence that comes from real project experience. Navigate building codes and consultant coordination without breaking a sweat. Manage construction administration on commercial workplace projects from start to finish. Produce high-quality 3D renderings and graphic presentations that help clients fall in love with the design. Skills & Experience 5–8 years of experience in commercial interior design. Strong Revit and SketchUp skills are essential; Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign round out the toolkit. Demonstrated experience with space planning, FF&E, materials, codes, and consultant coordination on commercial projects. Excellent 3D rendering skills — you know how to make a space look irresistible on screen. Progress toward NCIDQ certification or architectural licensure is preferred; LEED and/or WELL accreditation is a bonus. Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture; valid US work permit required. Self-starting, energetic, and creative — with the communication skills to back it up. Culture & Benefits Hybrid working — 3 days in the studio, 2 days remote, with flexible hours. Competitive salary with health, dental, and life insurance. 401(k) savings plan and generous paid leave plus holidays. Annual Wellness Month and a dedicated mentoring programme. Fully stocked model shop, VR space, and company-provided equipment. Monthly team happy hours and an iLAB Research Microgrant programme for curious minds. Annual summer picnic and holiday party — they know how to celebrate.
