About this role

Description DLR Group’s Texas region is seeking Intermediate Interior Designers, preferably with public-sector experience in Education, Cultural, or Justice+Civic projects. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid work model, allowing you to work between the office and home, and can be based in either Dallas or Houston. As an Interior Designer, you will be an integral member of our Interiors team, engaging in various responsibilities across projects. Your tasks will include developing material and finish palettes, creating 3D renderings, and preparing presentation drawings. You will coordinate the design and technical development of interior elements, ensuring high-quality work meets project scope, schedule, budget, and fee requirements. Skills • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in interior design • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills • Proficiency in Revit and knowledge of Bluebeam • Expertise in design techniques and sustainable principles • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities • Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively • Active desire to enhance knowledge and contribute to marketing and business development efforts Responsibilities • Develop creative and technically sound design solutions • Ensure design excellence and integrate quality assurance/control processes • Coordinate with Project Managers to maintain project schedules and deliver timely documents • Demonstrate strong conceptual design and space planning skills • Apply appropriate products, materials, and FF&E aligned with sustainability goals • Create graphic presentations and attend site walks and Construction Administration meetings • Lead collaboration within the project team and communicate design ideas • Ensure BIM standards are applied and oversee QA/QC procedures • Manage time effectively and align costs with project budgets Qualifications • Undergraduate Degree in Interior Design • Professional licensure preferred • Comprehensive technical knowledge in interior design • Strong attention to detail Education Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field Education Requirements Credential Category • Undergraduate Degree Experience Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in interior design, preferably in K-12 Education, Higher Education, and Justice+Civic projects Why work in Dallas, TX Dallas is a vibrant city known for its robust economy and diverse culture.
