Description
DLR Group’s Texas region is seeking Intermediate Interior Designers, especially those with experience in public-sector projects (e.g. Education, Cultural, Justice+Civic). This role operates within a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility between office and remote work, with potential locations in Dallas or Houston. As an Interior Designer, you will play a versatile role in the Interiors team, responsible for creating comprehensive material and finish palettes, 3D renderings, and presentation drawings. You will coordinate the design and technical development of interior aspects of projects, ensuring high-quality work that meets project scope, schedule, budget, and fee requirements. Additionally, you may assist the project manager with scheduling, work plans, and quality assurance throughout the project. Leading interior design efforts, client interactions, and presentations will be part of your role, as well as maintaining the company’s core values in every aspect of your work.

Skills
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in interior design
• Strong technical knowledge and proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Expertise in design techniques, tools, and sustainable principles
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Responsibilities
• Develop creative and technically sound solutions to design challenges
• Ensure design excellence and integrate quality assurance/control processes
• Coordinate with Project Managers to maintain project schedules
• Demonstrate strong conceptual design and space planning skills
• Attend site walks and Construction Administration meetings
• Lead collaboration within the project team and communicate design ideas
• Oversee QA/QC procedures and resolve clash detection issues
• Manage construction/material costs in alignment with project budgets
Qualifications
• Undergraduate Degree in Interior Design
• Professional licensure required
• Strong proficiency in A/E/I/P software and design tools
• Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
• Active desire to enhance knowledge and contribute to marketing efforts

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field

Experience Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in interior design, preferably in K-12 Education, Higher Education, and Justice+Civic projects
