About this role

INTERIOR DESIGNER (RESIDENTIAL) - We are a small interior design firm concentrating on Model Home Design, seeking a highly creative and passion-driven Int. Designer/ Decorator to join our team. As an Interior Designer, you will be responsible for developing fully executed model homes from conception to installation. The position requires an ability to be multi-task oriented, self-sufficient, work with different departments including warehouse staff, dependable, ability to cope under pressure, maintain good judgement, eager to learn and have a professional, supportive attitude Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Develop conceptual design presentations and can take a project from conception to completion, ensuring projects are completed on time, budget, and to the highest quality standards • Work with CAD drafter to complete full specification packages (including space plans, material selections, and elevation details) for model home projects. Some basic CAD is also required. • Prepare detailed documentation for procurement. Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets is required. • Purchase, track and maintain inventory of model furniture. • Assist Principal on special design projects as necessary. • Manage project costs and provide final budgets to Principal. • Attend model installations. • Manage multiple, simultaneous projects through all phases of design with high accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up. • You will work closely with warehouse staff. • Some quick staging is also required. You will work in warehouse with current inventory. • Installation prep: Packing accessories and bedding, getting supplies ready for install. Requirements: • An Associates in Interior Design or equivalent. • Proficient in Google Sheets & Slides, Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel on a PC platform. • Merchandising, styling or experience in the Model Home industry is a plus. • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and ability manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude. • Excellent work ethic, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. • Copes well under pressure and can accept constructive feedback. • California Motor Vehicle License – unrestricted. Moderate regional travel (including overnight trips and flights) required. • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Position requires the ability to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry accessories/bedding etc. weighing 25 -30pounds or less. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard.
