Corinne Mathern Studio is an interior design firm based in Santa Barbara. Our vision is forged around works of art and we collaborate with clients and artists to commission new art and custom furniture. Our small team’s involvement begins at construction concept development and ends with furniture plans and installation. Corinne established her eponymous studio in 2014 to work with residential, commercial and hospitality clients. Job Description Corinne Mathern Studio is hiring a highly organized, inspired individual to join our team as an Intermediate Designer. Our ideal candidate is extremely motivated with excellent organizational skills. Designers at Corinne Mathern Studio should find inspiration in many facets of design and thrive on bringing those inspirations to their work. We are looking for an individual that is inspired and is excited to grow along with a small firm. An Intermediate Designer at Corinne Mathern Studio has working knowledge in all facets of interior design and architecture and has a strong drive to continue to evolve their design practice. This candidate will support the Design Principal and communicate with clients, consultants, and staff with an efficient and clear style. They will contribute to the culture of the studio with design references, technical resources, and strong leadership. An essential job function of an Intermediate Designer at Corinne Mathern Studio is to bring innovative, new ideas and resources to each project. An Intermediate Designer at Corinne Mathern Studio has a very collaborative spirit and will create strong trade partnerships with vendors. This candidate must have the technical skills and design vernacular to make highly individualized and custom elements come to life in a clear and concise way. Job Location Santa Barbara (Work will be a combination of remote, office and site visits. Occasional travel will be required) Job Requirements • Expertise in Studio Designer software (must) • 5 years minimum professional experience in design and implementation. • Degree in Architecture or Interior Design • Expertise in software used to create design and contract documents within the interior design discipline ( AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino, V-Ray, Adobe Creative Suite) Essential Job Functions • Be a motivated self starter with the ability to prioritize duties to ensure timely completion • Meet with the Principal Designer and team to review assignments, changes in projects, and other information pertinent to job performance. • Coordinate administrative and technical project efforts to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects. • Understand Corinne Mathern Studios vision as to how to communicate designs to client. • Develop Concept and SD through DD packages to present to client • Source all FFE required for design packages • Create all interior plans, elevations and details necessary for SD and DD packages in AutoCAD • Create lighting, fixture, plumbing, millwork schedules • Create and update budgets • Manage timelines and project communications with clients and contractors • Work cohesively as part of a team and lead Junior Designer/Studio Manager as support staff • Display a strong work ethic, be honest and have a good-natured, cooperative, and professional attitude. • Be able to work remotely, in the studio and at site visits • Be reliable, responsible, and dependable in fulfilling obligations. • Remain positive and open to change (positive or negative) and react calmly and effectively in high stress situations. • Be a clear thinker, remain calm, and resolve problems using good judgment. • Be physically able to lift up to 25 lbs • Be comfortable on construction sites • Have a car • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and management
