About this role
Provide a Sydness Architects is a boutique, mid-town Manhattan, award-winning architecture studio with a wide variety of projects. We are currently seeking an experienced architect or interior design candidate to join our team.
This role will be an active and integral part of our office, offering the ideal candidate opportunities to experience all phases of the design and construction process... with ample growth potential. They will be able to take ownership of the projects they are working on while still being guided by senior members of staff.
We are currently expanding our work in commercial office interiors and seek an experienced person in this area. This is a full time, in office, position.
The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and enthusiastic. They will have a hand in every aspect of design and construction, from schematics to product research to construction administration.

Responsibilities
• Assist in the creation of schematic, construction, and permitting drawings including schematic layouts and construction details.
• Assist in the creation of landmarks packages and department of buildings filing sets.
• Participate in all aspects of construction administration; including site visits, RFI responses, submittal reviews, and creation and issuance of meeting minutes.
• Work with project manager to review and coordinate all engineer, contractor, consultant drawings.
• Research and source furniture, lighting, fabrics, and other interior finishes.
• Assist in the ordering of samples and the maintenance of finish/material libraries.

Example: Determine and develop user requirements for systems in production, to ensure maximum usability
Qualifications
• BArch or Master’s in Architecture or BA/MFA in Interior Design from an accredited institution.
• 3-5 years in a NYC firm with experience in retail/ corporate interiors. Residential experience will also be considered.
• Fluency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite is required. Revit knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of construction means and methods, construction materials, and typical details.
• Working knowledge of NYC building codes is required, experience with zoning is also a plus.
• Experience in selecting and sourcing architectural finishes, fabrics, lighting.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, are required.
• Candidates already on the path to licensure (NCIDQ or RA) preferred.
