About this role

We are seeking a talented Intermediate Designer with 5+ years’ experience to join our dynamic New York team. As an Intermediate Designer, you will play a key role in conceptualizing, designing, and executing projects ranging from corporate interiors, mixed-use and landlord/building architecture. What Is Required 5+ Years Experience Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture is required Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, graphic design, and 3D modeling & visualization software Experience in developing test fits from a list of requirements or program A portfolio showcasing conceptual design work, including workplace transformation projects Fulfillment of IDP hours strongly encouraged Actively pursuing NCIDQ certification Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills Ability to function well in a fast‑paced environment Strong leadership, organizational, communication skills are essential Qualified candidates must include an online or PDF portfolio with their application. Your Responsibilities Play an active role in the design process, collaborating with the project team to develop design elements from concept through design documentation and construction administration Conceptualize and communicate unique design concepts and solutions Ability to develop test fits from a list of requirements/program document Develop, prepare, and coordinate presentation materials with project team members Effectively communicate design intent through sketches, renderings, drawings, details, and specifications Produce space plans, furniture plans, elevations, sections, joinery/millwork details; conceptual and finished design presentation documentation Develop and produce BIM drawing packages for design review, tendering and construction phases of the project Provide solutions to design problems and generate design alternatives Clearly communicate ideas to team, consultants, vendors, and clients Assist in workplace strategy, programming and space planning analysis Understanding of project budgets and ability to specify products that adhere to budget restrictions Ability to complete accurate furniture and finish specifications which can be used for bidding and RFP requirements Thorough understanding of design requirements needed to produce construction drawings Basic understanding of building codes and ADA guidelines Basic understanding of LEED and sustainability best practices Meet with suppliers and coordinate and educate the design team on new materials, brands and special treatments Track material costs and lead times for project samples Coordinate with Project Architect to ensure design elements are properly integrated into the construction documents and design intent is met What We Offer Salary Pay Range: $65K – 80K USD Competitive benefits package Hybrid work model Opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the firm A supportive and collaborative work environment Exposure to a diverse range of projects Continuing education and training opportunities Access to the latest design software and tools Spectorgroup is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of a protected category, class or status. #J-18808-Ljbffr
