About the position
IA Interior Architects is seeking an Intermediate Designer for our Denver Studio. This role is pivotal in translating client goals, brand, and culture into powerful environments that are built around people, processes, technologies, and business drivers. As part of the largest global architecture firm focusing exclusively on interiors, the Intermediate Designer will work collaboratively with a team of architects, designers, workplace strategists, and environmental specialists. The position requires a blend of creativity, professionalism, and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as a passion for interior design. The Intermediate Designer will primarily provide design support in project administration, design development, and contract documents. This includes completing technical drawings under the direction of senior designers, developing design ideas in collaboration with the design team, and ensuring that engineering drawings comply with the design solutions. The role also involves assisting senior designers in selecting fixtures and finishes, developing preliminary space plans, and conducting research for furniture and finish cost estimates. The Intermediate Designer will support the team in collecting information for client assessments and may attend interviews to provide documentation support. This position is ideal for someone who is eager to grow their skills in a dynamic environment and is committed to supporting projects through their various phases. The Intermediate Designer will also be responsible for mentoring and supporting junior designers, ensuring a collaborative and productive team atmosphere.
Responsibilities
• Completes technical drawings at the direction of senior designers.

• Works with the design team to develop design ideas.

• Provides preliminary review of engineering drawings to ensure compliance with design solutions.

• Assists senior designers in selecting fixtures and finishes.

• Develops preliminary space plans at a high level under supervision.

• May provide suggested details for interior design projects at the direction of senior designers.

• Researches and collects details for furniture and finish cost estimates.

• Develops preliminary plans.

• Assists senior staff with verification of site details to support design.

• Assists in field surveying of client spaces.

• Compiles pricing from manufacturers and representatives.

• Supports the work of the Junior Designer.

• Collects information for client assessments and may attend interviews to provide documentation support.
Requirements
• Graduate of architecture or design school; equivalent experience may be substituted.

• 3+ years' experience in corporate interior design projects.
,
• Working knowledge of the range of design principles and aesthetics.
,
• Familiarity with space planning methodology.
,
• Familiarity with furnishings and finishes.
,
• Intermediate sketching and rendering skills.
,
• Intermediate interior architecture detailing skills.
,
• Working knowledge of CDs and procedures.
,
• Familiarity with building systems, codes, and ADA requirements.

• Familiarity with requirements for the path of travel.

• Familiarity with contract administration.
,
• Commitment to support projects through peaks and valleys.

• Intermediate MS Office Suite skills.

• Advanced Revit skills.
