ForrestPerkins, a distinct studio of Perkins Eastman, is seeking a hospitality focused Project Architect with primary focus on Interiors for our Dallas office. The Project Architect has overall responsibility for design quality and delivery for the project(s). The Opportunity
• Work directly with the Senior Designer to develop interior concepts and ideas into functional space plans, elevations, details and 3D models for continuing design development.
• Coordinates with the project team during all Phases of the project to clearly convey the design intent.
• Develop and implement design of all details for the project based on the team’s design intent.
• Manage the quality control of documentation through the design process and oversee the QA/QC process the Studio’s projects.
• Responsible for projects performed as Interior Architect of Record.
• Assist in the preparation accurate task lists and schedules to supplement the Project Manager.
• Assist in the review and approval submittals and RFIs during the Construction Administration Phase.
• Attends site meetings with owner consultants and contractor throughout CA Phase, inclusive of FF&E installation, as necessary.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 5-year Architecture program in the United States, or a Master’s degree from an accredited Architecture program in the United States.
• Minimum of 12 plus years of experience in the field of Interior architecture, with a focus on Hospitality and/or Multi-family interiors. Must have performed construction administration services for multi-residential and hospitality projects.
• Must have the ability to hand sketch to guide client visualization.
• Registered Architect preferred or working towards licensure.
• Space planning and understanding of the process of all phases of design.
• Strong balance of technical knowledge and architectural /interior design skills, in all phases of architectural and interiors projects.
• Can develop a set of construction drawings and direct/supervise the development of a full set of construction drawings to include FF&E specifications.
• Familiarity with building codes and regulations, including ADA, ANSI, Fair housing, and local amendments of IBC. Ability to navigate various jurisdictions across the county.
• Proven ability to coordinate and manage consultant teams.
• Collaborative and team oriented with an ability to manage and support the work of teams of 4-6 staff members and consultant teams.
• Proven ability to fully coordinate Interior Design work processes as it pertains to furniture, fixtures, and equipment to ensure Interior architecture and interior design move forward simultaneously.
• Ability to manage the execution of the technical requirements of the Interior Design package.
• Proactive, with strong leadership skills.
• Excellent communication/presentation skills.
• Creative problem solver.
• Strong proficiency with computer-assisted design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe, Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity; 3D software such as Sketchup and or Rhino.
• MUST be proficient in Revit and VR Tools
• Proficient with other data management software such as Newforma, Word and Excel, Deltek Vision, Microsoft Project.
• LEED Accreditation preferred.
Type: Hybrid 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.
Salary Range: $90k to $110k
