Qualifications: - Required: US Work Authorization - Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design - Required: Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) - Required: Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop & InDesign) - Required: AutoCAD - Preferred: Interior Design Experience: 1 to 2 Years Exciting opportunity with a growing mid to high-end residential interior design studio located in Port Chester, NY. We design homes in Manhattan, Westchester, and Fairfield County. We are looking for a full time junior designer who ideally has 1 to 2 years of experience. This position is a great opportunity to work directly alongside the Principal Designer and offers invaluable exposure to the many facets of the interior design business. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assisting principal designer with all design related activities such as preparing for presentations, mood boards, and material schemes. Drafting furniture and floor plans. Research in resourcing product information and specifications. Pricing materials, writing up estimates and proposals, placing vendor orders, following up on vendor orders, organizing design materials in office, liaising with clients by e-mail and in person to provide information. Managing project management spreadsheets, and creating tear sheets in InDesign. Scheduling and overseeing deliveries and installations. SKILLS: • Excel • Adobe InDesgin and Photoshop for presentation work • AutoCAD – 1 to 2 years of experience • Space Planning • Creating mood boards • Creating material schemes • Some experience with construction is desired • Experience working in an architecture or interior design firm preferred • If you have an architectural background some other job elements would apply such as providing drawings, elevations and supervision on site construction • 3-D Rendering is a plus QUALITIES: • Passionate about interior design • Self-starter • Problem solver • Attention to detail • Creative • Very organized - can keep track of scheduling and multiple orders • Client facing abilities – strong verbal and written English grammar skills are needed INTERIOR DESIGN KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Interior Design terminology, vendors, and procedures. ABILITY TO COMMUTE: The office is located in Port Chester, NY. It will be a hybrid of in-person and virtual work. Ability to travel to and from projects is required. Projects are mainly located in Manhattan. There are also some projects located in Westchester, Long Island and Fairfield County. Driver’s License preferred. COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience Job Type: Full-time Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate: • Greenwich, CT: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred) Education: • Bachelor's (Preferred) Work Location: Multiple locations
