Interior Designer/Project Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for transforming spaces and a strong understanding of design principles. This role includes Coordinating the design process from beginning to completion within Design/Build process. Actively participate in remodeling projects through interaction with clients and other team members. Designs should reflect the clients’ wishes and needs as well as budget concerns. Designers will also need to provide administrative support to the project team, by developing drawings, sketches, or any other written documents to execute remodeling contracts or necessary permitting. Which include but are not limited to initial sketches for preliminary ideas, final drawings to scale, computer generated renderings, and assist clients in interior and exterior design choices. Designer also needs to be comfortable discussing budgets and allowances with clients during the design process. Responsibilities Coordinate Design Process with client/sales team to accommodate projected start date. • Create design schedule and assist in finish list • Attend all design meetings • Coordinate material selections with client and sales team • Complete space planning and tile drawings as needed • Coordinate meetings for drawing presentation and approvals, as needed • Assist in keeping finish list current • Attend weekly sales meetings • Recap sales or design meetings for the sales and production manager Assist in subcontractor and material pricing • Request finish material pricing as needed • Compile all finish list pricing as available • Provide preliminary drawings for subcontractor walk through • Attend subcontractor walk through Compile final design contract for presentation • Request input from sales and production on preliminary scope of work • Receive input from sales on preliminary scope of work • Compile and package final design contract package Miscellaneous • Keep record of B/4 and after pictures • Weekly communications w/ client ensuring good service and thermometer of how project is going • Update team on design changes Qualifications: • Highly organized and ability to multitask across several different projects • Excellent comprehension of Microsoft Office Products and basic computer skills • Communication and Follow Up skills • Blueprint reading • Ability to clarify and follow through on directions given by others. • Produce computer generated renderings for interior/exterior remodeling projects • Drawings and sketches for preliminary design meetings • Kitchen and Bath design • Tile drawing layouts with details • Interior and exterior decorating design knowledge a plus EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • A degree or certification in design with multiple years of experience • In depth knowledge of construction industry and finish materials • Construction experience-basic knowledge of building systems • Knowledge of industry resources and available finishes. Other SKILLS: MATHEMATICAL SKILLS • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. • Ability to apply basic concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS • Certified Kitchen and Bath designer a plus • Must be able to produce CAD drawings; Chief Architect, 20/20, or comparable computer program • Any design affiliations within the professional design industry a plus Join us in creating inspiring spaces that enhance the quality of life for our clients!
