Interior Designer – Wellness & Hospitality Project

Part-time Contract | 20–30 hours/week | Approx. 4 months | $50/hour | Hybrid SUI is looking for a talented and highly hands-on Interior Designer to help bring the vision for our new Union Square wellness space to life. This is a project-based role for someone who has a strong design eye but is equally comfortable with the practical side of executing a large physical space. You will work closely with SUI's founders, operations team, architects, contractors, and vendors to translate the overall creative vision into a cohesive, beautiful, functional environment. Our ideal candidate has experience in hospitality, wellness, spa, hotel, restaurant, or high-end commercial interiors and can move comfortably between creative concept development and hands-on project execution. What You'll Do Help develop and refine the overall interior design vision for SUI Union Square Create mood boards, material palettes, layouts, and high-quality digital renderings to visualize spaces before execution Translate creative direction into practical design solutions Take and verify on-site measurements and help plan furniture, fixtures, equipment, and spatial layouts Source furniture, lighting, finishes, fixtures, décor, materials, and other interior elements Research vendors and obtain pricing, samples, lead times, and alternatives Develop and maintain FF&E schedules, sourcing lists, and design budgets Help manage purchasing and ordering while keeping the project within budget Track orders, deliveries, lead times, substitutions, and outstanding design items Coordinate closely with architects, contractors, fabricators, vendors, and the SUI team Visit the Union Square site regularly as the project progresses Troubleshoot design and sourcing challenges as they arise Help oversee installation and ensure the finished space reflects the intended design vision What We're Looking For A strong interior design portfolio is the most important qualification for this role Strong aesthetic sensibility and ability to translate a creative vision into a cohesive physical environment Experience with hospitality, wellness, spa, hotel, restaurant, retail, or similar commercial spaces strongly preferred Strong digital rendering and visualization skills Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar Experience with FF&E sourcing, purchasing, and budgeting Comfortable taking measurements and working from architectural drawings and floor plans Highly organized, resourceful, practical, and able to manage many moving pieces independently Based in the New York City area and available for regular on-site work Role Details Location: Union Square and SoHo, Manhattan + remote work as appropriate Schedule: Approximately 20–30 hours per week Duration: Approximately 4 months Compensation: $50/hour Position: Project-based contract role To apply please send your portfolio or examples of relevant interior design work to kai@suiyoga.com.
