About this role
Ithaca home-building firm seeks candidate for design, procurement and project coordination. Position will involve project design/creation, drafting/3D modeling, project estimating, client presentations, project implementation and coordination and management of general project flow along with field crew support. Although training will be provided, experience/education in design, drafting... estimating/office functions and construction is ideal.
Projects range from new construction to remodeling for amazing clients in Ithaca and the surrounding areas. Each job is unique and offers the opportunity for customization and creative problem solving. Projects include (but are not limited to) ground-up new home design and construction, kitchen and bathroom remodels, additions, etc.
Duties:
• Collaborate with clients to determine their design preferences, needs, and budget.
• Create floor plans, elevations, sections, and detail views throughout the length of the project. Design with a creative and innovative eye that tailors the project to each client. Work with the team and client to refine the designs.
• Construct 3D digital models and renderings to convey design concepts to the client.
• Assist clients in selecting and purchasing materials, finishes, fixtures, and accessories.
• Present mood boards, inspiration images, designs, and material selections to clients.
• Coordinate daily with the jobsite teams to allow a continuous flow of progress.
• Place orders for jobsite materials (framing materials, selected finishes, etc.) and coordinate with vendors to find the best products, prices, and schedule deliveries.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, architects, and code inspectors throughout the course of the project.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and client expectations.
• Search for unique products, hardware, and other solutions that are just right for the custom project.
• Create estimates for materials and labor for project budgeting.
Skills:
• Strong creativity and an eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and professionals.
• Proficient in using design software such as AutoCAD or ArchiCAD.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Creative problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Dependable, honest, and hardworking.
