Interior Designer Manager – Grant Leading Technology GLT is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to become a part of our team! The candidate will assist in requirements gathering, space planning, furniture and finishes of the interiors of commercial buildings. The successful candidate will work with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope. He or she will coordinate with... other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible. Must live within a commutable distance of Washington DC – 20% onsite time is required Responsibilities: • Oversea team workload and schedules • Coordinate deadlines and deliverables of Senior, Intermediate and Junior Designs • Document and present team project status • Develop and streamline design processes • Assist in training process development and implementation • Assist Lead designers on large full building renovations • Participate in architecture, MEP, and furniture meetings • Travel to perform site survey’s including building and furniture survey’s • Develop concept plans and test-fits for medium to large renovations and commercial spaces • Develop 35% Design Intent Drawings (DIDs) • Apply ADA/ABAA standards to test fits • Lead space planning requirements gathering to determine clients’ needs • Provide space planning deliverables, such as concept plans, test-fits, and furniture and finish selections. • Participate in space planning design projects • Conduct site surveys, walk-throughs, and furniture punch list • Research concepts and materials to support design team on concept development • Work within timely schedules to coordinate the completion of tasks through to final project completion • Maintain client, vendor, and consultant relationships • Prepare deliverables for client presentation • Review Design Intent Drawings (DIDs) and Construction drawings (CDs) • Monitor and manage team performance • Lead client communications and foster client/company relationships Qualifications and Education Requirements: • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Interior Design or Architecture or Fine Arts required • (10) years of experience in commercial interior design furnishings, finishes, fixtures and equipment in various stages, from conception to completion required • Preferred NCIDQ Certification • Preferred LEED Certified • Proficient in AutoCad • Furniture experience is a must • Experience with Photoshop, Sketh-Up, Adobe Suite, Revit, Microsoft Suite or other design software • Significant Exposure to various standards and practices applied in the design field • Experience in working on projects in various stages, from conception to completion • Deadline and detail-oriented • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience leading a project team • Experience communicating with client, PM and vendors • Government experience • Overseeing 20 plus projects • Developing tracking processes • Training new hires • Implementing new processes and standards • Presenting and conveying designers to end users • Ability to travel regionally (out of town) a few times a year. • Must live in the United States • Authorized to work in the United States with an ability to pass public trust clearance Preferred Skills: • Working with Herman Miller and/or MillerKnoll is a plus • Working with OFS is a plus • Experience working with Revit • Experience in Photoshop, Sketch-Up, or other design software • Proficiency in developing 3D designs using 2020 CAP • Proficiency in completing Design Intent Drawing (DID) and Construction Drawing (CD) Qualifications and Education Requirements: • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Interior Design or Architecture or Fine Arts required • (10) years of experience in commercial interior design furnishings, finishes, fixtures and equipment in various stages, from conception to completion required • Preferred NCIDQ Certification • Preferred LEED Certified • Proficient in AutoCad • Furniture experience is a must • Experience with Photoshop, Sketh-Up, Adobe Suite, Revit, Microsoft Suite or other design software • Significant Exposure to various standards and practices applied in the design field • Experience in working on projects in various stages, from conception to completion • Deadline and detail-oriented • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience leading a project team • Experience communicating with client, PM and vendors • Government experience • Overseeing 20 plus projects • Developing tracking processes • Training new hires • Implementing new processes and standards • Presenting and conveying designers to end users • Ability to travel regionally (out of town) a few times a year. • Must live in the United States • Authorized to work in the United States with an ability to pass public trust clearance
