Job DescriptionJob Description We are seeking a creative, professional interior designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will meet with clients to discuss their design needs and create proposals that meet those needs. You will be responsible for bringing on new business. You will discuss budget, style, and timelinesâ??helping the client to prioritize what they want to accomplish with their design project. You should have a current portfolio of their interior design work, a keen sense of style, and an eye for detail. Interior Design Duties and Responsibilities • Meet with prospective clients to understand their design needs • Help clients determine their style preferences • Aid in the prioritization of clients' wishlist, based on budget and timeline • Offer alternatives that work for the client and remain true to their wishes • Conduct client status update meetings on a regular basis when completing a project • Liaise between clients, vendors and contractors • Foster and maintain relationships with local vendors, distributors, builders, architects • Source all necessary materials, on time and on budget • Monitor progress, ensuring project is moving along on schedule • Communicate with all parties and team members continuously throughout the project • Update all affected vendors/contractors and client should delays arise • Ensure clients' satisfaction and provide exceptional customer care at all times • Remain calm and collected, even when dealing with problems or difficult clients Interior Design Requirements and Qualifications • Degree in interior design required • Proficiency with Photoshop, AutoCad, or other design software • Significant work experience dealing directly with customers/clients; 5+ years professional experience in the interior design field prefered • Ability to design in many different styles, applying the customer's preference over your own • Highly knowledgeable regarding current trends and fashions • Keen awareness of space and room flow • Ability to envision the finished project and help clients do the same • Familiarity with computer design software; basic word processing, spreadsheet, and email skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
