Responsibilities:
• Own smaller projects or assist on executing larger projects from beginning to end, handling most of the project management and working with team members to complete on time and on budget
• Create preliminary client budgets and schedules, and updating as needed
• Review and send client proposals for approval
• Oversee the construction process - meeting with contractors, clients, and vendors on a regular basis to ensure that the design is executed to plan
• Collaborate with contractors, clients, and vendors on creative solutions when issues or problems are identified
• Prepare, manage, and maintain project files, correspondence, drawings, etc.
• Respond to all client, vendor, and contractor emails, calls, or texts within 24 hrs
• Manage and help with installations and styling
• Create vision boards
• Create furniture plans and design concepts
• Research and source furnishings, fixtures, and finishes, working with vendors
• Create client storyboards
• Create architectural 3D models (bonus), renderings (bonus), and 2D drawings
• Create detailed permit and construction drawing sets, including plans, elevations, sections
• Design and create construction drawings for interior architectural details, custom millwork, and furniture
• Research specifications required for drawings
• Identify areas where process improvements are needed on a continuous basis
• Work with team members to improve processes and updating documentation as needed
• Mentor less skilled and experienced designers and help them improve their skills
Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum 3-4 years of work experience in a residential interior design firm
• Authorized to work in the United States - we do NOT sponsor
• Proven ability to be self-reliant
• BS/BA degree in Architecture or Interior Design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Sketchup.
• Comfort and familiarity in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, and as a bonus, Keynote
• Comfort and familiarity with communication and project management software such as Asana.
• Comfort with hand sketching
• Proficiency with design process, principles, construction methods, and creating detailed construction drawings with proper notation for permit.
• Proficiency in sourcing from high end and artisan/maker resources and designing custom furniture. You stay on top of all the latest modern/contemporary designers, vendors, products.
