About Us: DesignWise is a premier interior design, procurement, and FF&E Installation company in the hospitality industry located in White Bear Lake, MN who specializes in hotel and casino remodels and new construction projects... We are looking for interior designers that are creative, personable, outgoing, detail orientated, excels at working in a fast-pace collaborative environment and has a passion for design. You will be a part of every aspect of the hospitality interior design process from initial concepting with ownership to a final site walk through. Our in-house project managers work with you to ensure the project stays as true as possible to the original design intent. Position Summary: In this position you would be responsible for helping design, plan, lead, manage, and specify FF&E items within the scope of the client approved budgets for a variety of hospitality interior projects. You will be present at owner, construction, and consultant meetings through the initial kickoff, bid process, and installation to coordinate and ensure specific client and project needs are met. You will work with the interior design team and project managers to create a well thought out design and a positive client experience. The primary job responsibilities for this position are: • Participate in all phases of FF&E interior design projects including programming, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation. • Create furniture plans, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and section detailing. • Selection of design elements including: fabrics, furniture, finishes, window treatments and lighting. • Create renderings and presentations for client and or brand approval. • Write accurate product specifications, budgets and change orders. • Review and approve shop drawings. • Communicate with franchises on approval of proposed design, layouts, furniture, and finish specifications. • Collaborate with partnered designers, architects, and installers. • Present and lead design phases for client meetings. • Provide project updates to colleagues. Requirements for this position are: • Strong relationship building skills, and the ability to convey project information to clients, vendors, project managers, general contractors, installers, etc. • Proficient knowledge in Revit REQUIRED. • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites (e.g., InDesign & Photoshop). • Strong MS Office Skills: Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Proficient in Excel. • Having prior knowledge of FF&E selections and specifications. • Basic understanding of commercial building codes. • Ability to create accurate layouts, elevations, and renderings. • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills with the ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities. • Detail oriented with accurate data entry skills. • Resourceful and have strong retention and recall abilities. • Thorough with the ability to proofread own/others work products. • Proven ability to meet project timelines. • Must be exceptionally driven and passionate about achieving excellence in your work. Education and Experience: • Professional Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited school. • Minimum of 3+ years of experience working in a hospitality commercial design firm. • Commercial interior design and/or construction knowledge preferred. • Knowledge of furniture manufacturing industry and/or purchasing experience a plus Benefits: We offer comprehensive benefit programs as well as 401(k) plan.
