Interior Designer / Home Design Consultant (Project-Based | $4,000 per Build)

About Whitis Premium Builders Whitis Premium Builders is a custom homebuilding company serving Central Kentucky, including Lancaster and the surrounding counties. We’re looking for a hands-on interior designer — someone creative, dependable, and client-focused. You don’t need a design degree or expensive software; we value proven results, great taste, and the ability to bring ideas to life while keeping clients on budget. Responsibilities • Collaborate directly with homeowners to capture their design goals and preferences • Create mood boards, finish selections, and design boards (Pinterest, Canva, or similar) • Guide clients through finish selections: flooring, paint, lighting, cabinets, fixtures, and décor • Coordinate with our project manager to ensure selections align with the construction schedule • Maintain organization, track selections, and ensure decisions stay within budget • Communicate clearly and confidently with clients, suppliers, and the build team Ideal Candidate • Passionate about home design, décor, and interior styling • Enjoys working directly with clients and bringing their vision to life • Organized, creative, and results-driven — not afraid to take initiative • Comfortable managing multiple design projects at once • Based within 50 miles of Lancaster, KY (Danville, Nicholasville, Lexington, Richmond, etc.) • Has a portfolio or examples of design work (formal degree not required) Compensation & Structure • $2,000–$4,000 per build, depending on project scope and experience • Typically supports 10–15 builds per year • Estimated annual potential: $30,000–$60,000+ • Payment milestones:• 25% at design board approval• 50% after final client selections• 25% at project completion • Flexible schedule: remote design work with in-person client meetings as needed Job Type: Contract Projected Total Compensation: $35,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year Work Location: Hybrid remote in Lancaster, KY 40444
