The Opportunity In this role you will have the opportunity to: • Complete interiors package including required drawings, specifications, and color boards to provide design solutions that are functional, enhance the quality of life and culture of the occupants, and are aesthetically attractive. • Responsibilities include space arrangement and layout, selection of finishes, selection of furnishings, and production of drawings and specifications. Key Responsibilities • Interacts and coordinates with the Lead Architect or Interior Designer on the interior design of projects . Provides interior design and associated construction drawings, specifications, color boards and product information . Coordinates all project interior design criteria into interior space designs / layouts . Manages interior design budget, schedule and quality . Plans and conducts conferences with clients, project personnel, vendors, and contractors as required to finalize design . Presents concepts and finished design to clients/owners . Leads a small production team . Maintains records and documentation . Checks shop drawings and installation drawings . Prepares interior design submittal package documents . Verifies installed interior design conforms to construction documents . Acts in capacity of a "lead person" • Does not have management responsibility for the people to whom they provide work direction • Provides work direction to: • drafters, technicians, and intro -level architects Preferred Qualifications • Preferred Skills: . Intermediate knowledge of Building Codes and Government Compliance Regulations (Americans with Disabilities Act) . Advanced familiarity with manufacturers of interior finish materials and furniture • Advanced familiarity with GSA schedules and policies for Government work . Advanced ability to provide creative and technical solutions meeting owner's needs . Advanced functional knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, Sketch-Up, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel . Intermediate analytical skills . Creativity . Aesthetic sense . Initiative . Attention to detail . Intermediate communication skills . Basic negotiation skills . Ability to multi task and adapt to change Minimum Qualifications Must have a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from an accredited university (Bachelor of Arts in Interiors or similar 4 or 5 year program) and National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Certification or be in active pursuit of such certification if not certified*. Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of Commercial Interior Design. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Certifications National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Certification or be in active pursuit of such certification if not certified*.
