About this role
The Designer will work with both the sales team and clients toward creating comprehensive design concepts and project development for the office interiors environment.
This includes, but is not limited to specifying furniture, materials and finishes and understanding how these elements are detailed in the office space. We are looking for versatile, enthusiastic designers who like to learn, are... technically adept and exhibit outstanding people skills.
The position requires an individual with a strong design and relevant industry experience coupled with an entrepreneurial and “in to win it” attitude. This role reports directly to the Design Process Manager and will also work closely with the Director of Design + Project Management.
Key Responsibilities:
· Participate in programming activities (requirements development) with account manager and client, on larger and more complex projects, to understand office furniture needs and considerations.
· Develop drawings (2D and 3D views) of proposed office furniture in client space using CET, AutoCAD, 20/20 CAP Studio, and SketchUp software.
· Present expertise on products and systems that accomplish the design intent.
· Propose office furniture items and finishes to meet client functional, aesthetic, and budgetary needs.
· Develop proposal materials (e.g., PowerPoint presentations and Budgets) to assist account manager with articulating office furniture solutions to clients.
· Develop pricing and budgetary inputs for quotes.
· Generate purchase orders (POs) for materials and products.
· Develop installation support documents and specifications to ensure compliance with design intent during project implementation.
Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field
• Minimum five (5) years of design experience, preferably in commercial office furniture
• Extensive AutoCAD and space planning experience and related skills
• Proficient knowledge of CET and other 3D design related software a plus
• Highly effective visual presentation skills using relevant technology applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Derive satisfaction from finding creative solutions to a wide range of client workspace requirements and desires
• Thrive in fast-paced, pay-for-performance, reward-for-success environment
• NCIDQ Certification in progress or obtained
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
