About this role

We are looking for a Cabinet Specialist to assist our design team at Forward Design Build Remodel. This position will focus on design and ordering of cabinetry and supporting project designers for our residential remodeling projects in the greater Ann Arbor area. Why Forward? Responsibilities • Provide initial cabinet design and layout • Work with designer for final cabinet design and quoting • Order cabinetry materials for all job sites in a timely manner • Work with cabinet manufacturers to establish lead times and stay up to date on training • Provide all receipts for purchases and enter in Credit Card form in Smartsheet software for accounting • Return damaged items and arrange replacement • Assist Design Team on multiple projects at varying stages of design • Attend site field measurements, surveying existing conditions • Assist in the development of presentation items, including: CAD Drawings, schedules, & selection cut sheets • Perform research and work with vendors in product selection & pricing • Develop and produce construction documents and detail sketches • Manage files & organize documentation Required Education/Experience • 2-5 years’ experience in cabinet management required • Associate degree or college degree • Prior cabinetry program knowledge and experience is preferred • Cabinet design software knowledge is a plus • Prior kitchen and bathroom design experience highly preferred Desired Traits/Skills • Honesty, integrity, and commitment to quality and excellence • Solid command of the English language (excellent verbal communication skills) • Ability to communicate interpersonally in an open and effective style; excellent listening skills • Desire to learn and develop within the industry, and to gain knowledge towards advancement • An easy-going and friendly disposition – ability to work with various personalities • Common sense - Ability to admit mistakes • Self motivated, takes initiative • Must have a valid driver's license • Must pass a background check and drug test • Able to lift 25 or more pounds unassisted Job Type: Full-time Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Happy hour • Health insurance • Paid time off • Parental leave • Profit sharing • Tuition reimbursement • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
