Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide interior design services to the University community through the operations of the Facilities Planning and Construction Department.

Salary Rate / Pay Rate
$28.21 - $35.89/hour
Required Qualifications
1. Any one from the categories below:
A. Graduation from an accredited school of interior design
OR
B. Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architectural design, or fine and applied arts
2. Three (3) years (36 months) of professional experience in interior decoration work, including responsible participation in design, specification preparation, and supervision. Preferred Qualifications
1. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs
3. Familiarity with Autodesk AutoCAD
4. Familiarity with Adobe InDesign
5. Knowledge and understanding of building and accessibility codes
6. Ability to work independently, exercise judgement and make decisions
7. Excellent communication skills
8. Detail-oriented and organized.
9. NCIDQ certification or pursuing certification.
Work Hours
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Functional Expectations
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Ability to perform occasional investigative work in ceiling spaces, tunnels, and confined spaces.
2. Ability to perform occasional investigative work involving crawling, kneeling, and or climbing to maneuver through tight building spaces.
3. Ability to work with architectural archives, including pulling and filing of large prints.
4. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work.
5. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview.
