We are a small boutique full service interior design firm located in Silver Spring, Maryland. Our projects include high-end residential, multi-family, small economical and full renovations. We are seeking to find the ideal candidate, the ability to work on different types of projects and not be locked into redundant and repetitive projects. We are seeking a creative, motivated and innovative... Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing various interior design projects from the beginning to end. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from residential to small commercial, and multifamily using your unique perspective to create spaces. The successful candidate will be a critical thinker who is able to translate the needs and wants of clients into beautiful and innovative curated spaces. You must demonstrate an understanding of Interiors and Architectural building materials and finishes, building systems, specifications, current and applicable building and fire codes, design and detailing standards and construction techniques, and current market trends. Knowledge of Interior finishes and design specifically related to our every day planning, design concept development, design documentation, construction documentation, construction administration, and furniture (FF&E), and materials selection and specifications is a plus. The interior designer will have the opportunity to work with consultants, product representatives, furniture manufacturers, vendors, and fabricators. Interior Designer Qualifications: • You must demonstrate an understanding of Interiors and Architectural building materials and finishes, building systems, specifications, current and applicable building and fire codes, design and detailing standards and construction techniques, and current market trends • Minimum 5 years of experience or equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities • General understanding of sustainable strategies and principles including familiarity with LEED or other green building rating systems • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office • Possesses general knowledge of building codes and ADA guidelines as they relate to life safety and space planning • Team player with a collaborative mindset • Proficient in design software programs- CAD, Revit, sketch-up and Microsoft Office • Portfolios must be submitted for all design positions (Architecture, Interiors, Planning, etc) Interior Designer Responsibilities: • Report directly to the Principal Designer • The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing various interior design projects • You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from residential to commercial, using your unique perspective to create spaces • The successful candidate will be a critical thinker who is able to translate the needs and wants of clients into beautiful and innovative designs • Knowledge of Interior Architecture and Architectural design specifically related to workplace planning, design concept development, design documentation, construction documentation, construction administration, and furniture (FF&E), and materials selection and specifications is a plus • The designer will work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, vendors, and fabricators • Report directly to the Principal Designer • Develop and present potential design concepts, based on the client’s needs, desires, and budget • Create detailed drawings and 3D models of interior spaces, furniture layouts, and interior finishes using computer-aided design (CAD) software (Revit and Chief Architect a plus) • Work on design assignments that will include space planning, concept design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation • Coordinate with architects, builders, and contractors to ensure the successful implementation of designs • Review shop drawings, and material submittals and conduct periodic site visits during construction • Select and specify materials, furniture, fixtures, and finishes for interior spaces • Assist with research, sourcing, and pricing • Sampling, CFA’s, and vendor follow through • Manage product images; scanning, saving, and printing • Assist with the creation of client proposals • Create digital client presentations using Canva and PowerPoint • Update Design Docs (Project Management Software) with all design necessary updates • Update Master Task List • Create and maintain design documents • Stay up to date with the latest interior design trends, materials, and technology to ensure our projects are at the forefront of the industry • Assist in managing the designs of multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget • Provide design support and documentation during the completion and execution of all design phases Interior Designer Additional Details: • Work Location:on site ONLY • Driver's License (Required) • This is a full-time position (M-F) • Compensation based on experience • We are located in a area where there is free parking and many restaurant options • Employee discounts • Portfolios must be submitted for all design positions (Architecture, Interiors, Planning, etc) Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $25.00 per hour Schedule: • Monday to Friday Application Question(s): • Do you own a car?
