Mid to Senior Level Interior Designer Job summary... We are seeking an experienced and talented mid to senior-level Interior Designer to join our team. The Designer will implement projects under the direction of the Principal Designer/CEO. The Designer will be responsible for leading and overseeing the design process for interior projects, including conceptualization, space planning, material selection, and project management. This role requires a strong design background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and other design professionals. Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include – but not limited to – the following: • Lead and manage the interior design process from concept development to project completion, ensuring high-quality and innovative design solutions in collaboration with the Design Director. • Communicate with clients to understand their design requirements, preferences, and budget constraints. • Conduct site visits and assess existing spaces to gather information and identify design opportunities and challenges. • Develop and present design proposals, including mood boards, 3D renderings, and material samples, to effectively communicate design concepts to clients. • Create detailed design plans, including space layouts, furniture arrangements, lighting design, and material specifications. • Correspond with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure design feasibility and compliance with building codes and regulations. • Manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets. • Source and select furniture, fixtures, finishes, and accessories that align with the design concept, budget, and client's preferences. • Oversee the procurement and installation process, including reviewing shop drawings, coordinating with vendors, and conducting site visits during construction to ensure design integrity. • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designer(s), supporting their professional growth and development. • Stay updated with industry trends, new materials, and emerging design technologies to bring innovative ideas and solutions to projects. • Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and industry professionals to expand business opportunities. • Participate in Quarterly Projects/Goals • Assist the Principal Designer with project execution as needed. • Must understand that design is 90% executing and planning the details and 10% of the “fun” stuff. Requirements: · Bachelor’s or master’s degree in interior design or a related field · At least 3 years of related experience in interior design, with a focus on high-end residential or commercial projects · Proficient in using design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite · Excellent leadership and project management skills · Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate design concepts to clients · Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail · Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines · Ability to collaborate and build relationships with clients, architects, contractors, and vendors · Eager to learn and a positive attitude · Must have a love for design and a passion to give our clients their dream Bonus points for: · Experience with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors · Experience creating renderings · Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices · Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful interior design projects · Experience working with high-end clients in residential and commercial projects · An understanding of the interior design business and profitability · NCIDQ certificate · Experience using ClickUp, StudioDesigner About TMI: A full-service boutique Interior Design firm in Sarasota Florida specializing in new construction and renovations.
