Summary
You will serve as a SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER in the Planning, Design, and Construction Directorate of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG SYSTEMS COMMAND PAC.
Duties
You will be responsible for horizontal coordination of interior design policy issues, program issues, and community management across all NAVFAC Components.You will provide leadership to other design team members in the areas of Structural Interior Design (SID), Comprehensive Interior Design (CID) to include Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FFE) procurement, interior programming, and space planning.You will execute design and analyses, utilizing advanced architectural/interior design software.You will Identify areas of risk associated with design and construction and develops mitigation strategies or alternatives.You will provide technical guidance to Architect/Engineer (A/E) firms regarding criteria application and unique DoD functional requirements.You will prepare written and oral presentations regarding interior design-related topics. Developing formal presentations to illustrate a complete interior design solution.You will perform all aspects of interior design for in-house projects for a wide variety of installation shore facility types.
Qualifications
Selective Placement Factor: This position requires Registration, Licensure, or Certification as an Interior Designer in the District of Columbia, a US State, or a US territory. (NOTE: IF YOU CLAIM TO BE REGISTERED, YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR REGISTRATION WITH YOUR APPLICATION IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED). Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing subject matter expertise to design team members in the area of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) design; 2)Identifying areas of risk associated with design and construction and develops mitigation strategies or alternatives; 3)Preparing scopes of work and Government fee estimates for Architect/Engineering services pertaining to interior design; 4) Providing technical input for initial outfitting requirements with procurement agents, project managers, and end users; and 5)Providing coaching, mentoring, and training to lower graded Interior Designers.
