Interior Designer Job Overview: Design Tech Homes, the premier custom home builder in Texas, is looking for an experienced Interior Designer. Our new Interior Designer will be responsible for guiding customers in selecting all exterior and interior products for their new custom dream home. In this position, the Interior Designer will prepare for buyers in advance of the first meeting, reviewing plans, option addendum and setting up selection sheet. Primary Responsibilities: • Lead Design/Color Meetings for all Customers • Understand customer desires and use professional expertise to assist customers with making interior and exterior product selection • Create selection sheet in full & calculate upgrade prices • Create price requests and add to the option addendum all upgrades per selections • Create all plan redlines for sales to submit for plan mods • Create cabinet hardware layouts, countertop requisition forms, update selection sheets for all selection related change orders/field notification forms • Ensure that all selection paperwork is accurately completed including redlined plans • Initiate pricing requests resulting from Design/Color Meetings • Assist Construction Managers with verification of, and information regarding, selections during the home’s construction • Create color photo package for confirmation meeting • Choose additional products for the Design Center based on customer trends • Coordinate with Vendors regarding product displays and product reselections by Customers as needed • Assist Customers with any reselections as are necessary • Respond to emails from buyers with additional questions about selections and future reselections that may be needed • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned Required Skills & Knowledge: • Professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture or equivalent industry experience • A good understanding of architecture, product design and aesthetics • A minimum of 5 years of experience in residential design preferred • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe software • Ability to use the DTH provided technology to efficiently process the color selection information and professionally communicate with other members of the organization • Structural and detail design experience desired • Ability to work independently and self-monitor progress in order to meet expectations • Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills
