About this role

The role of the in-house interior designer will require several skill sets: Drafting. Ability to communicate graphically using CAD or Revit programs to create interior finish plan sets, furniture plans, and construction details as well as bluebeam for creating cut sheets and marking up drawing sets. Specifying FF&E (soft and case goods). Ability to work with commercial vendors; knowledge of fabrics, window coverings, wall coverings, art, and fixtures. Traveling. At least once a month, ability to shop, decorate/accessorize, and physically set up a model home, which entails driving, moving small pieces of furniture, hanging art, and walking at least 10,000 steps; maintain common-area furnishings and décor; oversee installation of special projects. Design review. Ability to provide design review on new projects with a project team that includes architects and interior designers from across the country, representing Touchmark as the owner and ensuring Touchmark design standards; coordinating review with operations and other stakeholders. Collaboration. Ability to work collaboratively, have an open-minded view. Required Qualifications: At least 5 years of experience with an emphasis on residential, senior housing, or hospitality design. 4 year college degree in the study of interior design (BIArch, BFA Interior Design) Ability to work under pressure and simultaneously coordinate multiple initiatives, scopes of work, activities, and varying groups of people or individuals who must cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency. Proven track record of executing projects with a collaborative and communicative approach with owners, operators, design consultants, and contractors. Proficiency using computer and Microsoft Office software applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook, as well as AutoCAD,, Bluebeam. Ability to understand and interface with Touchmark’s accounting, facility management, and project specific tracking software. Willingness and ability to travel to communities (including driving and air travel) for multiple days; the position will be based out of the central office in Beaverton, Oregon. Ability to do light lifting and setting of furniture and accessories during furniture setting (furniture install by others).
