Interior Designer

Sechrist Design is seeking an experienced mid-level or senior designer or interior architectural designer to join our team! Sechrist Design Associates is a 40+ year old award wining interior design firm located in Seattle, WA. SDA specializes in multi-family, senior living, high-end residential, and creative branding. We work with some of the most recognized companies and developers in the Pacific Northwest and pride ourselves on these long-standing relationships. SDA is seeking like-minded, talented, motivated, and forward-thinking senior designer for our fast-paced design firm that is growing with great opportunities for the right person. WHAT YOU’LL DO • Project management of small to mid-scale projects • Develop project narratives and design concepts. • Sell the vision! • Select and specify finishes and fixtures. • Select and specify FF&E. • Create 3D visualizations using Sketch-up. • Assemble digital design presentations for projects and creative branding initiatives. • Produce schematic and construction documents using AutoCAD. • Assist with construction administration and shop drawings. WHAT YOU BRING • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in interior design. • Experience in multi-family and/or senior living is required. Additional experience in residential, commercial, retail, or hospitality industries is a plus. • Ability to manage the client, the schedule, the budget, and the expectations of the project. • Highly developed skills with AutoCAD, with strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketch-up. • Knowledge of interior construction detailing • Strong verbal and graphic presentation skills • Knowledge of products and FF&E, their appropriate uses, relevant vendors, and how to specify. • Considerations: We will consider applicants with less technical ability and more project management experience (as an example) or vice versa.
