Interior Designer

Forbes Design is an established custom home design firm located on the Mainline. We specialize in high-end residential interiors typically in the surrounding philadelphia area but often across the eastern coast. Often working on multiple homes for already eastablished clients. We are a full service design firm guiding our clients through the custom design selection process as well as all furniture and finishing selections through installation. You will be working directly with the owner on all project and phases of each project from conception to completion. Working directly with vendors on specifications on interior building products, drafting layouts, elevations,details and creating lgihting plans. Maintaining clients expectations is a top priority at Forbes design. The ideal candidate likes to take on mulitple responsibilities and will ask a lot of questions. Duties: • Prepare project documentation including specifications and schedules. • Develope detailed design concepts to include layouts, color schemes, furniture selections and material cut sheets. • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and maintaining quality standards. • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and other professional installers invloved in the building/renovation process. • When required conduct site visits to assess progess and ensure compliance with design specifications. • Researching and order processing for all furnishings required on each project. • Stay updated on industry trends, materials and technologies to provide innovative solutions. Requirements: • Batchelor's degree in Interior Design with 2-4yrs of proven experience within Interior Design or realated field. • Proficiency in design software such as AUTO CAD 2008 or later a must, photshop, sketchup, Microsoft office suites & Quickbooks. • Creative, organized, self motivated and enjoy working independently • .Excellent communication skills for effective client & contractor interaction. • Abilty to manage multiple tasks and change priorities. • Knowledge of various levels of furnishings, fabric, lighting a plus.
