About this role
ABI Design, a hospitality design firm, located in Warwick, Rhode Island seeks
an Interior Designer for an immediate opportunity. Design work includes
Capital Expenditure work for existing hotels in the portfolio, PIP work
required for the brands and new builds as well. Join an exciting and dynamic
team. ABI Design has been involved in projects at the following brands:
Hilton, Starwood, Hyatt, IHG and Marriott. Responsibilities: • All Phases of a
Design Project: Programming, Space Planning, Conceptual Design, Design
Development, and Construction Documentation. • Develop space planning concepts
and generate program documents. • Field Verification and AutoCad/Revit input.
• Attend Client Meetings as applicable. • Assist in managing client
expectations, team communication and consultant coordination. • Current
knowledge of design trends, materials/finishes. • Selection and specifications
of materials, finishes, furniture, furniture systems. • Knowledge of building
codes, construction materials, and construction techniques • Review work of
consultants for coordination purposes. • Provide project team coordination for
the plans, specifications, and materials. • Prepare construction documents and
work with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to meet overall
project objectives. • Participate in the construction administration of
projects and review of submittals and samples. • Maintain concise and detailed
notes for all design projects. • Color and Material Boards; digital or
physical. • Collaboration with ABI Design colleagues on multiple interiors
projects, including all phases of design. • Contribute to ABI Design office
activities, initiatives, and learning programs. • Conduct site visits and
document field reports • Create project specification documentation • Prepare
and maintain FF&E; Budgets • Ability to review submittals and RFI'S
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture (or
complementary experience) 3-5 years of experience in hospitality interior
design • Strong verbal & written communication abilities to communicate design
ideas. • Excellent ability to multi-task, responding to a constant change of
needs and schedules. • Ability to maintain a strong sense of focus and
confidence under tight deadlines and varying workloads. • Excellent problem
solving skills. • Excellent time management skills. • Ability to work
efficiently and within an organized manner • Self-motivated/Self-starter •
Strong Proficiency in AutoCAD (required), Photoshop (required), Revit,
SketchUp, and MS Office; including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. •
Knowledge of Hotel Brand Standards is preferred
