Sena Hospitality Design, Inc., an award-winning, TopID hospitality interior design firm, has an opening for an Interior Design position for candidates with experience in hospitality design. SHD specializes in hospitality design including timeshares and hotels.
Job Summary:
The Interior Designer is responsible for producing high-quality project design deliverables in both FF&E and some construction documents. Work on any and all phases of the development including Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration. Work directly with the Project Manager on tasks and deliverables to ensure the facilitation of a project’s completion on time, on or under budget, and meeting SHD quality standards.
Essential Job Functions:
• Experience in executing all project design processes, documentation, administration, and coordination for schematic design, design development, presentation, procurement, construction, and installations.
• The ability to organize, lead, and collaborate with the entire + Construction team in facilitating the design process for assigned projects.
• Experience in conducting client presentations and coordinating with all other design disciplines such as commissioned fabrications, architectural, structural, landscape, and MEP.
• Experience in reading architectural plans and conducting plan reviews to make recommendations and test fit for the highest level of space layout, function, user experience, and innovation.
• Proficiency with successful interior architectural, millwork, and material allocation, conceptualization, sourcing, pricing, development, and detailing that achieves the appropriate level of impact and innovation for the design, budget, and timeline.
• The ability to work independently or lead a support team in outlining construction documentation framework, time budget, schedule, and level. Must have experience and ability to develop schematic concepts for construction documentation that are in compliance with industry, SHD, and client standards.
• The capacity to research and bring fresh ideas that are project-appropriate and articulate why they meet the needs/narrative.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interface clearly with team, client, contractors, partners, and vendors.
• An understanding of project time management for multiple project deliverables and timetables.
• The ability to manage the position’s workload and be proficient in creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones, adhering to deadlines, and allocating resources.

:
• A passion for design and creativity.

• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on assignments as well as collaboratively as a member of the team.
• Highly proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and specification software.
• Able to work effectively under pressure in both a team and individual setting.
• Ability to apply a sense of style to create aesthetically pleasing interiors.
• Willing to enforce deadlines.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design/Interior Architecture.
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Hospitality Interior Design as a Designer.
• Must have experience in both renovation and new build projects.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to travel to job sites and networking events.
Salary Range: $50K to $70K, depending on qualifications.
Candidate must have the following qualifications:
• Graduate from a 4-year program for interior design.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Sketch Up, Revit, 3D Max, and Spex is a plus.
• Must be extremely organized and have great communication skills to present effectively to clients.
• Must have knowledge of hospitality products and sources.
• Full understanding of hospitality specifications required by many brands.
• Ability to put together budgets for large jobs.
