You will work closely with clients, project managers, and craftsmen to conceptualize design ideas, select materials, furnishings, and finishes, and ensure that every project reflects the highest standards of design excellence. From design to renovation and furnishings, Armitage Interiors takes single-source responsibility for every project, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience. Operating out of their historic farm in Blooming Glen, Pennsylvania, the company excels in blending heirloom-quality design and construction with modern functionality, creating inspirational and affirming spaces for their clients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Client Consultation and Needs Assessment: • Engage with clients to understand their design vision, preferences, and lifestyle requirements. • Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing conditions and identify design opportunities. • Collaborate with clients to develop design concepts, mood boards, and color schemes that align with their objectives. • Space Planning and Layout Design: • Create functional and aesthetically pleasing floor plans and layouts that optimize space utilization. • Select and specify furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) that complement the design concept and meet budgetary constraints. • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to seamlessly integrate design elements into construction plans. • Material and Finish Selection: • Source and recommend materials, finishes, and decorative elements, such as flooring, cabinetry, countertops, lighting, and hardware. • Evaluate product samples and prototypes to ensure quality, durability, and aesthetic compatibility. • Stay updated on design trends, product innovations, and sustainable materials to inform design decisions. • Presentation and Communication: • Prepare and present design proposals, renderings, and presentations to clients, clearly conveying design concepts and material selections. • Communicate with project managers, craftsmen, and subcontractors to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications. • Respond to client feedback and inquiries with professionalism and attention to detail. The ideal candidate should possess: • Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field. • 3-5 years experience in residential interior design, preferably within the remodeling or construction industry. • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite • Strong creative vision, spatial awareness, and attention to detail. • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
