About this role
Responsible for providing CAD expertise and proficiency in all company computer software programs, particularly CAD and CAP Studio. Supports sales team and clients. Prepares space planning and design of interior environments for commercial buildings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
¨ Communicates effectively with Account Executive and clients to determine architectural preferences, purpose and function of environment, budget, types of construction, equipment to be installed and other factors which affect planning interior environments.
¨ Integrates findings with knowledge of interior design and formulates design / space plan to be practical, esthetic and conducive to intended purposes such as raising productivity or creating optimum workflow.
¨ Advises Account Executive and/or client on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, color schemes and color coordination.
¨ Renders design ideas in form of CAD drawings, 3-D or elevations, estimates material requirements and costs, and presents design to House Account Executive, Account Executive and/or client for approval.
¨ Selects and prices furnishings, art works and accessories, as directed by Account Executive and/or client. Prepares proposals for clients.
¨ Maintains high level of knowledge in the CAD industry, products, methods, promotional strategies, software and hardware trends.
¨ Ensures personal competency in using all computer programs. Takes responsibility for learning and implementing new and upgraded software.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months
to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid California Drivers License and proof of insurance.
COMPUTER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Position requires Auto CAD Design software, CAP Studio, Microsoft Word and Excel.
