Interior Designer

Job Description Our Ideal fit would be someone who has a proven track record of seeing projects through from schematic design to finished product. We are looking for someone who is familiar with each step of the process. The Interior Designer will work directly with the Principal to develop and produce luxury living environments. The Interior Designer is expected to translate the principals aesthetic vision into client presentations and communicate the project design goals both in documentation and verbally. The position requires the candidate to be fluent in both contemporary and traditional luxury residential building materials, styles, methods, and vendors. We are flexible about hours and home/studio time but expect 3 days per week to be spent working from the studio. We prefer to hire Santa Fe locals who have knowledge of the local marketplace. Demonstration of skills and professional references will be required. Essential Functions Research and develop furniture plans, custom furnishings, and materials that match the functional requirements, budget, and design direction of each project. The Designer will create drawings, mood boards, approvals and other design presentations for clients. The designer will be responsible for producing technical drawings and design documentation (plans, elevations, architectural details, finish schedules). The Designer will be maintain project spec books. The Designer will need to be able to accurately communicate design details to contractors and address any technical issues related to the design. She/He will oversee the project installation scheduling and coordination. The Designer will be responsible for collecting all vendor quotes. She/He will maintain project budgets in excel. Job Requirements • Minimum of 5 years working in the Interior Design Industry. • Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related discipline • Excellent communication and presentation skills • Proficiency in all office software including excel • Proficiency in AutoCAD • Experience with FF&E development • Experience working with contractors • Use of project management software (Houzz Pro, Asana) • Current drivers license with reliable transportation • Must be able to work under pressure • Time management skills to produce all deliverables • Strong organizational skills About our company Chandler Prewitt Design is a full service boutique design firm located in Santa Fe New Mexico.
