Your Opportunity Ohana Design & Build is looking for a talented, detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our Design Services Team as we continue to expand our presence and portfolio in Park City, UT. The right candidate for the job is comfortable leading all aspects of an interior design project, with a main focus on the creative. The Interior Designer must be able to effectively manage a team, communicate directly with clients, and take ownership of the execution and outcomes of projects. Candidates should function well in a dynamic office environment and on construction sites, work collaboratively with the Assistant Design Manager and Director of Design Services, and lead by example to contribute to a positive and hardworking team culture. In this role, you will be taking ownership of the creative aspect and execution of multiple interior design projects, in collaboration with and in support of the Assistant Design Manager and Director of Design Services. Responsibilities will include project conceptual and visioning, all building specifications, space planning, FFE selections, budgeting, and installation. We require in-depth knowledge of design principles, concepts, and best practices, and are looking for an individual who will design complete projects and manage the work and execution of the projects to ensure efficient, accurate, and on-budget implementation. Qualified individuals must have a design solution-centered focus and the innate ability to multi-task. A Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture is required. Candidates should have a minimum of four years of experience leading high end residential or hospitality design projects. This position will report to the Assistant Design Manager. Candidate must live near or be willing to relocate to the Park City, UT area. Key Responsibilities In the role of Interior Designer, specifically you will: • Work directly with Client, Assistant Design Manager, and Director of Design Services to understand and/or define project scopes, lead client meetings as requested • Develop creative, aesthetically pleasing and functional design concepts and selections. Must be qualified to design, select and document all interior building selections and FFE for custom build homes to include tile, flooring, interior millwork design, plumbing selections, wall materials, countertops, window treatments, furniture, rugs, accessories, artwork, housewares, etc. • Manage all phases of design to include construction documentation, presentations, project conceptual and visioning, all building specs, space planning, FFE selections, budgeting and installation • Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers and Design Assistants, assigning projects and tasks and providing guidance to foster functional teams and successful projects • Focus on design research and continuing education to stay abreast of new product, design solutions and industry trends • Set overall project plan as it relates to supplier collaboration, work schedules and installation • Conduct and direct site visits to identify areas that need verification and coordinate actual FFE dimensions with final plan, confirm FFE and finish details, meet with vendors, schedule site visits and meetings with team members and other vendors, etc. • Manage and direct all subcontractors to enforce project goals, standards, and deadlines • Oversee and approve team’s use of Studio Designer software to enter and verify all project data with a focus on FFE including specifications, pricing, and vendor details • Analyze, guide and confirm space planning; create and modify furniture floorplans and interior elevations in AutoCAD or Revit with Project Manager and Design Assistant support • Create and modify PowerPoint presentations, utilizing Photoshop and/or InDesign • Use Microsoft Excel to generate and update all project schedules • Monitor status of FFE purchase orders, proposals, and overall project budgets • Manage budget preparation to include quoting, pricing, negotiation, data entry and proposal generation for all FFE • Lead and direct project installations Qualifications and Traits • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture required • At least four years experience as a lead interior designer for luxury residential and/or hospitality design projects • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit • Graphics skills; proficiency in InDesign or Photoshop • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Excellent client-facing presentation and communication skills • Ability to effectively meet deadlines and manage multiple projects • Proven organizational and follow-through skills • Excellent interpersonal skills, and enjoys being part of the team • Ability to understand and execute directives in a clear, concise and timely manner • Ability to break down processes into simple manageable tasks • Ability to remain focused to self-direct day to day tasks to achieve departmental goals Compensation Salary dependent on experience.
