Knowledge of contract furniture specification and procurement processes Knowledge of drawing design techniques, tools and principles Knowledge of construction methodology, materials and manufacturers Punctual, professional, and reliable Highly organized with great attention to detail Strong sense of urgency and ability to function in a fast-paced environment Ability to set priorities and work both individually and alongside a team Ability to consistently meet deadlines and develop next steps within project teams Knowledge of industry trends and standards Understanding of manufacturing processes Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to travel periodically Preferred Qualifications 4-6 years of professional experience in interior design 2-3 years of experience in commercial interiors required Bachelors degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited college or university, CIDA accredited program highly preferred NCIDQ Certification, LEED Accreditation a plus Working knowledge of industry standards and drawing documentation methods Graphic presentation and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas Knowledge in contract furniture, fixtures, and equipment sourcing, specification, and procurement Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) 3D Computer modeling and rendering skills (SketchUp, 3Ds Max, Enscape, or other modeling software) Job Summary Pophouse is seeking an Interior Designer formally trained to focus on commercial interior design and create unique design solutions for clients. This team member is passionate about design and is always looking to push their skills to the next level. They have a range of creative and technical experience, are a highly motivated problem solver, and can manage a diverse project load and client base. They are experts in large and small-scale projects and possess a deep understanding of the necessary steps in each phase to ensure successful project completion. RESPONSIBILITIES Work with senior design staff and leadership to develop innovative design solutions that are reflective of client goals, brand, and culture Collaborate on commercial interior projects that include programming client needs, developing conceptual and schematic design strategies, space planning, and design development documentation Participate in design critiques and charrettes with the design team and senior leadership Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture specifications customized to each clients scope and budget Generate material selections and finish plans required for construction Prepare presentations and graphic renderings of plans, sections, elevations, and 3D views for client meetings Assist in the creation of project budgets and adherence to the set budget and timeline Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and vendors to meet overall project objectives Participate in job site review and construction administration efforts, including furniture and construction punch list Report to the Design Director Who We Are Pophouse, formerly dPOP, is a design studio located in Detroit, Michigan.
