Duties include, but may not be limited to the following...
Plans and implements a comprehensive Interior Design Program which includes providing complete, from concept to installation, interior design services for the organization to include satellite facilities.
Acts as a technical representative for design and finish specifications matters.
Plans, consultation, advice, specifications, and designs for virtually all spaces involved in new construction and/or renovation; reviews Architect/Engineer submittals for compliance with regulations and facility design criteria.
Influences design of new construction from conception through activation by an in-depth knowledge of use requirements and availability of furnishings to fulfill these requirements.
Ensures that appropriately designed color schemes are formulated for all renovation and new construction projects.
Preparation of the operating budget, floor plans and space layouts, finish schedules, presentation boards and submittals, and accurate cost-estimates.
Develops and maintains a schedule of short- and long-range interior interior-improvement projects for the facility through the 5-year interior design plan and other programs to identify existing and future project needs.
Originates orders for furnishings, window treatments, patient cubicle curtains, wall coverings, floor coverings, wall art, lighting, ceiling treatments, casework, and all other interior design-related accoutrements.
Effectively utilizes an annual interior design budget in recurring funds and budgeting projects that may involve millions of dollars in non-recurring funds.
Prepares interior design budgetary requirements for major and minor construction projects, for supplemental and future funding by Headquarters.
Prioritizing needs at the medical center within the constraints of the monies appropriated for the Interior Design program.
Maintains interior/exterior signage and directional graphics.
Represents the facility at various design-trade functions and maintains an effective rapport with design-industry vendors and/or representatives.
Maintains an interior design file system that includes drawings, specifications, budgets, project information, government contracts, requests for interior design services, and regulations pertaining to interior design.
Maintains a resource library of catalogs for furniture, window treatments, case goods, wall coverings, patient-cubicle curtains, floor coverings, wall art, and all other design-related items.
Responds to requests, complaints, etc. related to interior design and moves.
Serves as an active participant in all committees that significantly impact the Interior Design program.
Advises the supervisor of suitable responses to deficiencies in design functions where applicable.
Serves as the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) and administers contracted projects to insure contractor compliance with drawings, specifications, regulations, and policy.
Conducts site visits during construction, prepares pre and post-occupancy evaluations of site
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
