Interior Designer

As an Interior Designer, is responsible for implementing the interior design program as part of the Region 10 Public Buildings Service's program for the space delivery process. Provides technical design advice to other GSA, PBS personnel such as architects, engineers, and consultants on space planning and design issues. Location of position: GSA, Public Buildings Service, Planning Division... Tacoma, WA. We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is preparing hard-line drawings for required design intent documents e.g. demolition/renovation plans, furniture plans, etc.; surveying an agency's space, equipment, work flow, communication and organizational requirements; developing an agency's space and related requirements; specifying furniture and related furnishings; reading and interpreting basic architectural drawings; coordination and designing total interior finish schemes and materials. Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study - interior design or other field that included or was supplemented by at least 30 semester hours in interior design, interior architecture, or interior environmental design; or passage of the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) examination.
