JOB SUMMARY...
We are seeking a talented, licensed Interior Designer with 10+ years of experience. The Senior Interior Designer will be responsible for the initial design conception, technical development and execution of assigned project phases and assembly and maintenance of related documents. The Senior Interior Designer is expected to perform at an advanced level as a result of their extensive training and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work individually and collaboratively with a team to create and develop innovative design solutions.
· Prepare concept design and presentations, including space planning, furnishings layout, lighting, and finish selections for a wide range of project types.
· Develop FF&E and architectural finish specifications for documentation, review and approve FF&E purchase orders, coordinate final placement of FF&E installation with all parties involved and maintain FF&E budget for all phases of the project interiors.
· Review and understand with professional proficiency detailed construction documents including floor plans, elevations and sections, electrical details, schedules (finish, plumbing, door, fixture), furniture floor plans, FF&E specifications, materials and finishes to determine compliance in areas of quality, code and design.
· Assume a lead role in design presentations in communicating directly with clients and ensure that format is compatible with office and client standards/requirements.
· Direct and review furniture installation plans and shop drawings for content and accuracy and ensure that they are fully coordinated with all pertinent consultant drawings.
· Have knowledge of contractual responsibilities as they relate to FF&E in all phases of the project from the Project Manager.
· Maintain a strong working knowledge of FF&E specification minimum standards, informational requirements for specification and computer specification program requirements.
· Provide direction related to furniture and equipment inventories to purchasing expeditor.
· Serve as principal contact for purchasing agent and FF&E vendors while working with them to select design elements that are to be specified and establish all required information for documentation.
· Coordinate design direction and in conjunction with the Project Manager the management of outside consultants.
· Participate in the solicitation of proposals for services to be provided by outside consultants as it relates to FF&E.
· Communicate project status to Creative Director on a regular basis and develop and maintain communication with all project team members.

· Review samples, strike-offs, etc. for compliance with specifications and overall design intent.
· Attend site meetings and assist in the process of reviewing properties along with the Project Manager.
· Focus on service delivery while monitoring the status of assigned project tasks against the project schedule and participate on quality reviews of projects.
· Work with applicable internal project managers, project designers and/or architects throughout the project to help staff utilization/ work plan, task assignments and allocation of fees.
· Direct education of design assistants and interns in office standards and polices.
OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES:
· Participate in maintaining relationships with existing clients and nurture relationships with potential new clients.
· Participate in the establishment and maintenance of design standards for the firm.
· Keep abreast of new hospitality industry trends that may influence design scheme.
· Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of 8-10 years professional design experience preferred.
· Two or four- year degree from an accredited interior design program.
· NCIDQ certification preferred.
· Proficient in REVIT and/or AutoCAD,
· SketchUp, Photoshop and Illustrator
· Strong design and detailing skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects in varying stages as part of a project team, as well as individually
· Significant experience in preparing comprehensive interior design packages, including interior architectural detailing/construction documentation and FFE selection/specification
· Knowledge of commercial and institutional furniture and preparation of FFE specifications
· Current knowledge of building codes and accessibility standards
· Demonstrated knowledge of products, materials, and interior detailing required for high-end spaces.
· Assertive and motivated to generate results.
· Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying and resolving problems utilizing sound judgment and reasoning skills.
· Exceptional time management skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook, Revit, InDesign.
· Knowledge of IvyMark a plus.
