Who You Are:
O2 Design, an award-winning and innovative interior design firm, is looking for a full-time Interior designer with 5 to 8 years of experience. The designer will be responsible for the development and execution of creative interior design solutions for a variety of commercial design projects. The ideal candidate needs to have experience in the design process as part of a team. You will be part of a dynamic office setting where good organizational skills and a keen design sense are valued.
What You'll Do:
• Proficiency in AutoCAD to create full sets of ID Construction Documents, including furniture and lighting plans, reflected ceiling plans, floor finish plans, elevations, details, and schedules.
• Make updates and changes to existing drawings or designs.
• Research and develop design ideas.
• Survey and document existing building conditions.
• Develop conceptual "test fit" plans.
• Select and artfully curate finish palettes for all project types.
• Prepare furniture and finish specifications for client bid packages.
• Coordinate with furniture vendors, project consultants, and procurement agents for projects.
• Prepare furniture and material punch lists.
• Source new materials and furnishings for projects.
What You Bring:
Qualifications:
• Bachelors or master's degree in interior architecture or interior design
• 5-8 years of previous experience at an interior design or architecture firm
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The interior design must have the following distinguishing knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Ability to translate design idea and concepts into Construction Drawings.
• Strong skills in AutoCAD, SketchUp, MS Office, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Strong space planning and creative thinking skills.
• Basic knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements
• Ability to select and artfully curate finish palettes for all project types.
• Ability to generate your own ideas through sketching and rendering.
• Interior architecture detailing skills.
• Working knowledge of CDs and procedures
• Self-motivated/directed.
• Possess a positive can-do attitude.
• Excellent interpersonal and written skills.
• Strong sense of ownership and price.
• Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
• Flexibility to assist with stock work.
• Flexibility to participate and travel locally to assist with site visits and installations.
• Must work in the Lambertville Office 3 days per week.
What We Offer:
Salary Range: $65-$85K depending on experience.
