JOB OVERVIEW
Full-time Interior Design Summer Intern to work as part of a team to assist with the design and execution of successful projects through construction. This is a temporary role, and this candidate should be actively pursuing a degree in interior design, interior architecture, or architecture. The position reports to Senior Technical Architect.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Collaborate as part of a team and work on a wide range of projects through all phases of design and construction
• Assist in the production of accurate technical drawings, documents, and project specifications, apply established interior design standards
• Use project checklists and HHA established standards during all project phases
• Participate in building assessments and field verification activities
• Generate interior architecture concepts with Senior Designer(s) for projects to including but not limited to, space planning, ceiling design, elevation development, millwork development and detailing, integrated built-in components, furniture and equipment planning, and finish pallet selection and plans
• Work with Senior Designers on the development of design solutions including researching and selecting finishes, materials, products, fixtures and furniture for projects
• Research interiors products, maintain resource materials library and coordinate with local product reps and maintain calendar
• Attend project meetings and site visits; write meeting minutes and reports detailing observations
• Support business development activities through assistance with aids such as presentations and renderings
• Review completed plans, reports, estimates and calculations prior to review by supervisor or project manager
• Work closely with project leadership and team to achieve a high level of project success
• Apply a rigorous concept-based design process to justify decision making
SKILLS
• Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization and graphic software; REVIT strongly preferred
• Basic knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and BIM360
• Basic Knowledge of materials, construction techniques, specifications, and building codes
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
QUALIFICATIONS
• Actively pursuing a degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field
