Interior Design Sales Associate

Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Design Consultant – Lighting & Interior Solutions to join our design studio team. This role supports clients throughout the design process, from initial consultation and product selection to project coordination and completion. The ideal candidate will combine creativity, organization, sales ability, and technical skills to help customers create inspiring interior spaces. This position offers an opportunity to develop expertise in interior design, lighting solutions, remodeling projects, and high-end retail sales while working in a collaborative, client-focused environment. Key Responsibilities - Consult with customers to understand design needs and recommend lighting, fixtures, and interior solutions. - Assist clients with product selections, demonstrations, and design recommendations. - Support preparation of layouts, sketches, and CAD/3D design concepts for renovation projects. - Assist with showroom merchandising, displays, inventory organization, and product presentation. - Manage sales activities including quotes, order processing, POS transactions, and customer follow-up. - Build strong customer relationships through excellent communication and product knowledge. - Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding product availability, demonstrations, and inventory. - Support remodeling and renovation projects through scheduling, documentation, and site coordination. - Assist the design team with project organization and maintaining quality standards. Required Qualifications - Customer service, retail sales, design, construction, or related experience preferred. - Strong communication and relationship-building skills. - Ability to understand customer needs and provide design-based solutions. - Basic math skills for pricing, estimating, and transactions. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects. - Comfortable working in a showroom and client-facing environment. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with interior design, lighting, remodeling, construction, or home improvement. - Knowledge of CAD software, SketchUp, or design programs. - Experience with POS systems, CRM software, or sales platforms. - Ability to create layouts, measurements, and basic design concepts. - High-end retail or consultative sales experience.
