Responsibilities Develop competitive fee structures reflecting defined scope of services for project pursuitsEstablish and manage project schedulesOversee the completion of projects on time and within fee budgetAnticipate, understand and manage client expectationsProvide leadership to staff by identifying project studio team members’ roles and responsibilities, leveraging their strengths, providing stretch opportunities, and offering mentorshipLead and encourage open dialogue with project team regarding design and technical ideation and facilitate appropriate solutionsMotivate the project team to meet project goals through encouragement and/or course correctionOversee the selection of materials, furnishings, fixtures, and equipmentOversee administration of construction phase procedures and documentation (shop drawings/submittals, requests for information, and addenda/clarifications)Oversee development and presentation of appropriate technical solutions to project stakeholdersDrive the coordination of internal staff, external consultants and other stakeholders to achieve a cohesive and collaborative project teamAttend and conduct presentationsActively explore and recognize new business opportunities through professional networksDrive each project team to seek innovation in design solutions in an ongoing spirit of curiosity, continuous improvement, and increased project performanceDevelop effective project directives, outlines, projections, schedules, and strategies over the course of the projectOversee development and communication of appropriate project phasingManage all facets of project production resulting in a thorough set of documentsIdentify solutions and effectively resolve technical challengesUnderstand and apply appropriate industry standards and construction practicesOversees, and is responsible for, the identification, understanding and documentation of regulatory agencies’ requirements, as well as recognizing and resolving code-related design issuesOversee quality assurance processes and quality control of project documentsDemonstrate, share, and appropriately apply, new methodologies, practices, codes, and products Skills This role is an in-office positionDegree from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program or equivalent10+ years of experience in commercial design; Retail experience preferredProfessional registrationDisplay strong design portfolio showing strengths in conceptual design, space planning skills and detailingDemonstrated skills in developing design schemes and coordinating design teamsHigh commitment to QA/QCRevit proficiency and technical excellenceThorough understanding of how a drawing set goes togetherAcumen for how things are built and constructability, and the ability to apply that knowledge to support the project design and budgetKnows how to research and document codes for specific projectsExperience managing a variety of consultants and contractorsInterest in sustainable designEffective organizational and communication skillsStrong attention to detailFlexible attitudeProficiency or experience with managing overall project fees and schedulesDemonstrated ability to successfully manage client and team relationships including overall work plan development and sub-consultant coordination effortsSuccessful record of pursuing new projects through business development, marketing, and client satisfactionConfident presentation abilityPotential travel opportunities Benefits Corgan promotes a healthy work-life balance by removing obstacles and allowing you to focus on what you love doing, both inside and outside the office.
