Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Professor of Practice to join our dynamic team at Texas Tech University. This full-time, 9-month position will begin in September 2025.
The successful applicant will contribute to the university's mission through teaching, service, and research by serving as a faculty member in the Interior Design program. The applicant will have opportunities to teach undergraduate courses in Interior Design, mentor students in professional and career preparation, and liaise with professional contacts and entities on behalf of the department or program.
Qualifications:
• Masters degree in Interior Design or a related field
• Teaching experience in higher education
• Previous experience in interior design professional practice, by date of hire, either having passed the NCIDQ exam or meeting eligibility requirements to sit for it
• Experience with and competency in relevant industry-standard software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp)
• WELL AP, NKBA, AAHID, or other relevant certification(s)
Responsibilities:
• Teach all undergraduate course levels while providing service to the Department, the College, and the University as appropriate
• Produce research, publications, or creative expressions relative to their professional expertise
• Service duties include program-building, as well as the commitment to extra-curricular activities
