Job Title: Part-Time Purchasing Specialist

Position Summary: The Part-Time Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement process of furnishings, accessories, artwork, decorative lighting, wallcoverings etc. for various interior design projects. This role involves collaborating with designers, vendors, and clients to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality products that align with project requirements and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to source appropriate furnishings and materials.
• Procurement Process: Oversee the entire procurement cycle, including issuing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and coordinating installations.
• Budget Management: Work closely with the design team to adhere to project budgets, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all procured items meet the company's quality standards and project specifications.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier agreements, and inventory.
• Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues related to delays, damages, or discrepancies in orders.
• Install Coordination: Coordinate when installation should occur based on product availability & create an install plan with the installer, designer, and client.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the interior design or furniture industry.
• Skills:
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Previous experience in Houzz Pro
• Knowledge: Familiarity with interior design trends, materials, and furnishings.
Working Conditions:
• Part-time position with flexible hours; some travel may be required to visit suppliers or project sites.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively.
